Mrs. Anna H. Planavsky
January 28, 1919 - July 15, 2009
Anna H. Planavsky 90 years passed away on Wednesday morning, July 15, 2009, at Wilson Hospital.
She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years; John Planavsky, a sister; Olga Lipa, a brother and sister-in-law; Paul and Ceil Hores, and a brother; John Hores.
She is survived by two sons; Thomas (Linda) Planavsky Sr. and John Paul (Lavon) Planavsky all of Sanitaria Springs; four grandchildren, Kristine Marie Planavasky, Thomas (Tammy) Planavsky Jr., Michelle (Dale) Conklin and James John (Malissa) Planavsky; five great grandchildren, Thomas III, Jason, Mercedes, Gaven, and Raigen Planavsky; and many nieces and nephews.
Anna was a lifetime member of Joseph P. Mangan American Legion Post #1194 Auxillary, the La Societe Des 8 Chapeau et 40 Femmes (8/40), and a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church. She loved to cook for everyone, especially her family; she prepared luncheons at the Johnson City Home Library, the Hillcrest Rotary, and catering at the Johnson City American Legion Post #758. Anna was a recipient of the Paul Harris Award by the Hillcrest Rotary Club for her dedicated service.
We’re really going to miss all your Slovak cooking at the holidays, and we are especially going to miss you.The family would like to thank everyone at Lourdes Hospice, Wilson regional Medical Center, and Bridgewater Nursing Home for their excellent care of Anna over the last couple of months.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be held Monday 10am with Sister Fredrica Dunn, Spiritual Care Nurse with Our Lady of Lourdes Hospice officiating at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton where the family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Burial will be in the Sanitaria Springs Cemetery.
