Frank Herman Jr., 90 years, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep Friday afternoon, March 27, 2009, at his home.
He was predeceased by his wife; Annie (Watro) Herman in 2005, his son; Frank Michael Herman in 1998, his parents; Frank and Anna (Vouchick) Herman Sr., four brothers; William, George, Joseph and James Herman, and two sisters; Anna Blasko and Elizabeth Herman.
He is survived by his daughter; Maryanne Herman, of Johnson City, his sister; Rose Costello, two sisters-in-law; Amy Watro and Kathleen Kolodej, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church. Frank was a retired employee of Dunn-McCarthy Shoe Corporation, Binghamton. He was an avid sportsman, hunting, fishing, bowling, horseshoe pitching and playing baseball and basketball when he was young, to watching sports on television when he got older.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9 AM at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton, and 9:30 AM at St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church, 292 Clinton Street, Binghamton with the Very Rev. Propresbyter James Dutko officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Rev. Dutko will conduct a prayer service Monday 3pm at the funeral home where the family will receive friends, Monday 2-4 and 7-9pm.
