Mrs. Leola B. Wood

September 03, 1919 - February 16, 2009

Leola B. Wood, 89, joined her beloved husband, Bud, in eternal rest, Monday, February 16, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband, Horatio Wood; son, James Wood; daughter-in-law, Rose Wood; son-in-law, Thomas Salmini; her parents, her sisters and a brother.
She is survived by her son, Gerald (Rose) Wood, her daughter, Patricia Salmini; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a special friend, Rae Palmer Jones.
Leola is also survived by one very special granddaughter and her caregiver, Courtney A. Salmini, who cared for Leola for the past eight years, whom will miss her grandmother very much.
Leola loved her family and their visits, flowers, “Tabu” perfume, gardening, and she truly enjoying watching the New York Yankees! Leola was an inspiration to her family, her strength and courage, throughout the years, will forever live in our memories. Her beautiful smile & bright blue eyes will forever be in out hearts.
We love you Nan, and no day will ever be the same to us again without you.
Thank you for all you have done for us all. We are at peace now, knowing you are safe with the Lord. We love you forever!

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Thursday 4pm at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton with Elizabeth “Betty” Pomeroy, Chaplain at U.H.S. officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday 3-6pm at the funeral home.
