February 18, 1956 - December 23, 2008

The Very Rev David B. Sedor 52, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday afternoon, December 23, 2008, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Father Sedor is survived by his beloved wife, Pani Eileen J. (Gladis) Sedor; two loving daughters, Stephanie Lynne and Charissa Marie Sedor, all of Pittsburgh, PA; his parents, Edward and Josephine (Plavka) Sedor of Johnson City; his sister, Tamara L. Sedor of Highland Mills; his mother-in-law, Joyce Gladis; aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
Father Sedor was a graduate of Johnson City High School; S.U.N.Y./ Empire State College, Saratoga Springs, with a B.S. in Religious Studies; Christ the Savior Theological Seminary, Johnstown, PA, with a Bachelor of Theology; Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA with a Master of Theology and was currently working on his Ph.D. in Theology/Healthcare Ethics at Duquesne University.
Father Sedor was ordained in 1983 at Christ the Savior Seminary in Johnstown, PA and served at several parishes located in Seaford, NY; Morgantown, WV; Barton, OH; Monongahela and Jacob’s Creek, PA; Scranton, PA; Rockford, IL; and currently at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Altoona, PA.
Father Sedor loved his family, teaching, counseling, reading, Apple Computers, the Steelers and the Penguins.

Funeral Information

The family will receive friends Monday 6-8pm and Tuesday 9-10am at St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church, 292 Clinton Street, Binghamton, where Father Sedor will lie in state. A Divine Liturgy will concelebrated by various clergy on Tuesday at 10am. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Town of Dickinson.
