Miss Helen Linko

January 23, 1920 - April 01, 2010

Helen Linko 90 fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday morning, April 1, 2010 at her home. She was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Sophie Linko; two sisters, Anna Linko and Margaret Bignoli and a brother, George Linko.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Mary) Cooley of Johnson City, and Mrs. Ernest (Susan) Fitzgerald of New Orleans; many nieces and nephews including her devoted nephew, Jerome Bignoli, her special caregiver, Helen LaNave, and her other caregivers and family friends, Linda Warren, Sharon, Robin and Effie. The family would especially like to express their deep gratitude for all of the Hospice angels on earth who were involved in her care, most recently aide Sharon, nurse Belinda, and Sister Frederica.
Helen was a member of St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church. She was a retired employee of the Endicott-Johnson Corporation, Endicott and the First Ward Senior Citizens Center. She was a recognized volunteer of R.S.V.P.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Saturday 9am at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street Binghamton, and 9:30am at St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church, 292 Clinton Street, Binghamton where a Bright Week Funeral Service will be celebrated by the Very Rev. Protopresbyter James Dutko. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 4-7pm at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, you may choose to make a memorial donation to either the Lourdes Hospice Foundation, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905 or to St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church.
